This month we celebrated our first anniversary as Innkeepers of Victorian by the Sea. A special thanks to our guests this past year for your encouragement and visits!

Summer is here and we're eager to share the beauty of Maine with you once again. The lupines, rhododendron and peonies are blooming in the front yard and the scent of flowers and grass mixed with sea breezes is indescribably wonderful. We planted a small vegetable garden this year along with the blueberries and we're looking forward to fresh herbs and vegetables to complement the breakfast offerings. The local farmers markets are in full swing, and, thanks to our neighbors, we have added organic eggs, fresh pork sausage and a mild goat's cheese to the breakfast menus. We located a local Lincolnville fisherman who will provide fresh lobsters to you which you may boil in our pots. Enjoy your own Lobster Fest at the Inn!

Make your plans now for your Maine holiday.  It is going to be a beautiful summer! Feel free to contact us with any questions at 800-382-9817.  We're here to help you plan your next Maine vacation!

Sincerely,
Jeanne & Robert

--photo-- Good news for all of you foodies!  We have a new neighbor on Route  in Lincolnville Beach.  Annemarie Ahearn, a New York City chef, is opening a cooking school in July. Check out her website at www.saltwaterfarm.com and you will want to book a class!

 Attention Lighthouse Lovers
--photo-- During the past couple of months, we explored more of this beautiful state. One of the sites we're excited to recommend is a Maine coastal icon -- Pemaquid Point. In addition to the lighthouse, this scenic area features stunning granite outcroppings shaped thousands of years ago. It was the scene of many shipwrecks over the centuries. When you finally tear yourself away from the dramatic views, stop in at the museum housing exhibits on the history of the local fishing and lobstering industries. The Rachel Carson Salt Pond Preserve is on the route to the Point and should not be missed.

--photo-- Back home in the Camden-Rockport-Lincolnville area, we're watching the schooners sail the Bay.  A sail should definitely be on your list of things-to-do when plan your visit! Two we recommend are Schooner Yacht Heron and Schooner Surprise. The Yacht Heronoffers lighthouse and wildlife-focused trips.

Early summer guests have enjoyed renting kayaks from our neighbor, Ducktrap Kayaks, and exploring nearby Mugunticook Lake.  You may also want to check out Port Clyde Kayaks for a guided "porpoise tour."  We now provide picnic lunches for your outdoor adventures. Request a lunch when making your reservation with Victorian by the Sea bed & breakfast inn.

 Improvements to the Inn
--photo-- This summer we have a two-room furnished apartment with a galley kitchen for rent. The apartment, which accommodates four, rents for $160/night.  Weekly rates are also available. Breakfast is not included in this price, but may be arranged for an additional $15.00 per person. The apartment is ideal for those who may wish a lighter breakfast, or who prefer to prepare some of their own meals as the kitchen is fully equipped.
For fans of the Sawyer Suite, you wll be interested to know that it was redecorated this past winter and we think you will find it more comfortable and inviting than ever.
